Junior training will start on Friday 17th July from 6pm and finish at 7pm, but with limited numbers to begin with. This is because the current instructions only allow a coach/helper to look after a maximum of 5 juniors in a group. As we are able to arrange more coaches/helpers the number of groups will be expanded.

Due to circumstances we will not be able to offer training to the under 9 age group this summer.

This Friday will be by invitation only so if you are not contacted by one of our age group managers below, then please do not turn up at the ground on Friday for training. If your child is not involved this week, we will look to get them involved the following week.

Under 11 Manager – Alex Tyerman
Under 13 Manager – Lee Grimes
Under 15 Manager – Craig Smith

If your child will be attending over the summer please fill in a junior registration form which can be found in our Covid documents section of the website. There you can also find a copy of our risk assessment for junior coaching. Please take the time to read this as you are asked to acknowledge receipt of this document in the registration form.

All junior league and cup games have been cancelled this year, but the age group Managers will be trying to arrange some friendlies. If you do not wish your child to be selected in those games, please let the respective age manager know.
Please let us know if your child would like to attend training by emailing [email protected] or text 07929 621295. You will receive confirmation of your child’s slot and coach’s name once we have confirmed your membership has been paid. If your child is not involved this week, we will look to get them involved the following week.
As the Club has decided to take a reduced membership fee of £20 for this season from all members if any junior is selected to play adult cricket they will need to pay a match fee of £10 per weekend, so if they play Saturday and Sunday they only pay 1 fee of £10. Selection to one of the adult teams is made by the respective adult captains.

It goes without saying that training will not be the same as before and we would ask everyone to comply with all the new instructions to keep everyone safe.

Do not attend the Club if you or anyone attending the Club with you displays symptoms of Covid19 or your household is in isolation.

Attendance is for members only. Only those that have fully paid or paid the requested token membership fee of £20, since midnight on 6th December 2019, will be allowed to attend training.

Junior Members who have not yet paid can pay a token Subscription fee of £20 direct to the Wickford Cricket Club bank account at:

Barclays Bank, Wickford branch, Bank code 20-04-96 Bank account number 70683450

Please remember to quote your child’s name in the reference box, or the member you are paying for, so that the Treasurer can identify payments.

Weekly training will continue to cost £2.00 per session.

Junior administrators will need to keep a register of everyone attending training each time, including parents/carers, so that the Club always has a record of attendees in case we are contacted by the NHS Track and trace service. Lists will be retained for 21 days.

Guidance for juniors and parents/carers

  • Personal hygiene measures should be carried out at home before and after use of the facility.
  • Bring your own hand sanitiser where possible. If this is not possible the Club will have sanitisers available in the ladies and gents’ toilets, and on the table where junior administration takes place.
  • Bring your own training equipment – there must be no sharing of equipment.
  • Bring your own filled drinking bottles.
  • Avoid touching as much as possible whilst on club premises.
  • Do not leave private property or litter behind when you depart the premises.
  • No spitting.
  • Parents/carers are responsible for supervising all their accompanying children, except when they are training and ensuring that they follow social distancing guidelines.
  • Following attendance at the Club if anyone develops Covid19 symptoms they should arrange to take a free NHS test to check if they have the virus.

Please behave responsibly when at the Club, follow the instructions and remember social distancing.
